Switch Roles
There are 3 different roles in the creative process, the secret is to consciously separate them.
Walt Disney conducted his creative process in three separate rooms: The Dreamer's room allows for every idea; nothing is impossible. The Realist's room makes those ideas concrete, asking how they can be done. The Critic's room finds the weak points and tests them. Most creative processes fail because these roles get mixed up, the Critic enters the dreaming phase and kills the idea before it's born.

Action
For one of your projects, first be the Dreamer: no constraints, everything is possible. Write down all the ideas. Then be the Realist: which of these is doable, what is the first step? Finally, be the Critic: what are the risks, what is missing? Apply the roles in sequence and separately, not at the same time.
